so inspired.

I came upon the LDS church's website for youth. It's quite remarkable! Its design encourages participation from youth, helping them to inspire one another. Only people who are between the ages of 12 and 18 are able to leave comments, using a user name and password created here. To create a user name, people must be members of the church and know their confirmation date and record number (both of these can be obtained by talking to your ward clerk).

In the meantime, enjoy this sweet message of love.

Life can get pretty crazy! Sometimes it feels like you're caught in a
storm of drama, difficulties, and decisions. The most wonderful
thing is that you are not alone!

Yellow Brick is a place where we can come together and rejoice in
our blessings, even when things are nuts!

Posts will be labeled "Whirlwind" when they deal with the storms
of life, and triumphing in times of trial!

I would love to read your stories! Email me at
fleethecountry@gmail.com with any triumphant moments,
or if you have any questions about a particularly troubling trial.

The Ice-breaker...

I figured I would begin with my most embarrassing story, since
I'm sure you need a laugh today.

My Junior year of high school, I sat in the front row of my chemistry
class. There was a group of really, adorably cute boys who sat a few
rows back, and I was always wondering if they were looking at me.

In the middle of a lab involving the Bunsen-burners, our teacher had
us pause and sit down for a lecture. With all those flames alight, the
temperature in the room was rapidly raising. I decided to shed my
sweatshirt.

Well, my sweatshirt had had a scientific property working as well that
day and with the help of static-electricity, off came my shirt! And I
didn't even notice! I sat there, in my bra, until I started hearing laughing
coming from the boys in the back.

A sweet girl rushed over to try and cover my nakedness while
I put my self to rights.

I didn't have to wonder if those gorgeous guys were looking
at me that day. Yikes!
